CCP questions answered
How many questions is the CCP exam, and how long do I get?
170 multiple-choice questions in 3.5 hours (210 minutes). Some of those are unscored pretest items; ISACA does not publish how many, so treat all 170 as counting.

What is the passing score?
450, on a scaled range of 200 to 800. Scoring is based on the total number of items answered correctly regardless of domain — domain-level results are reported for information only and are not separate hurdles.

How many times can I retake it?
Four attempts within a rolling 12-month period.

Do I have to take a training course first?
Yes. Completing mandatory CCP training through an Approved Training Provider is a prerequisite for earning the certification.

What does the exam cost?
US$575 for ISACA members and US$760 for non-members. Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

How long do I have to apply for certification after passing?
One year from passing the exam. ISACA's web page states five years; the candidate guide states one, and the controlled document is the one to plan around.

What does passing CCP let me do?
CCP is the foundational credential in the CMMC assessor ecosystem and a prerequisite for the Certified CMMC Assessor and Certified CMMC Instructor certifications.

Which version of the CMMC Assessment Process does the exam use?
The current public CAP is version 2.0, dated 16 December 2024. Outlines that mention a "CAP v5.X" are referring to a draft numbered 5.6.1 that was circulated for training only in summer 2022 and was never published.
