Needed for the site to work
These are always on, because the site cannot work without them.
sb-…-auth-token (a cookie, split into numbered parts when it is long): keeps you signed in. It lasts up to 400 days, renewed as you use the site, and is removed when you sign out.
Cookies whose names end in code-verifier: random values our sign-in library sets when you ask for a sign-in, sign-up or password-reset email, or continue with Google, as a security step. They say nothing about you, and are removed when you sign out; otherwise they expire like the sign-in cookie.
qx-consent-v1 (local storage): your answer to the analytics question. It stays until you clear this site’s data.
qx-stale-build-reload and qx-stale-build-notice (session storage): after we update the site, a page left open from before reloads itself at most once and tells you why. Both are cleared within seconds.
qx-exit-offer-shown (session storage): the offer made as you leave a page appears at most once, and not after you have used an email form. It goes when you close the tab.
qx-case-notes:… (local storage): the notes you type during a practice case, so reloading the page does not lose them. They are removed when you save your marks for that case, and otherwise stay until you clear this site’s data.
Analytics, only if you say yes
_ga and _ga_… (cookies set by Google Analytics): tell your visits apart from other people’s, so we can see how the site is used. They last up to 2 years, renewed on each visit.
qx-fired:… (session storage): stops a refreshed page counting the same moment, such as a purchase or a finished mock exam, twice. It goes when you close the tab. Before a yes, this is kept in the page’s memory instead, and is gone when you leave the page.
Until you say yes, and if you say no, Google Analytics stores nothing in your browser and sends only cookie-free signals, as the privacy policy describes. Whatever you answer, there are no advertising cookies and nothing that follows you to other sites.
Checkout
Checkout happens on Dodo Payments’ own site, which sets its own cookies under its own policy.
Changing your answer
Clear this site’s data in your browser settings and the question is asked again on your next visit. Clearing it also signs you out.
Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we take it as a no: the question is not asked, Google Analytics stores nothing, and the signal outranks a yes given before. To answer for yourself, turn the signal off.
